Jekka Brokentusk

Jekka - before the haircut!
Character Sheet

Appearance
At six and half feet tall, Jekka Brokentusk is a colossal specimen of female might. Her orcish heritage is evident in her grayish skin tone, and the massive power contained in her bulging muscles. Although she could not be considered ugly, Jekka’s features are coarse and plain, and she does little to improve upon her “feminine charms”. With her red hair cropped close to her scalp, and clad in her chain mail and weapon harness, Jekka is often mistaken for a man, a mistake that has proven very painful to those who have referred to her as “sir”. Jekka favors the greatsword and her own, a massive blue steel blade she calls “Sparkspitter”, is perpetually slung across her back in its plain, worn leather scabbard.

History
Born to a human woman held captive by the Brokentusk orc clan, Jekka Brokentusk began her life a product of degradation and misery, her birth a final humiliation for her human mother before her death at the hands of her captors. Jekka’s father was never made known to her and she was raised in the Brokentusk clan in the orcish fashion.

As Jekka grew it was obvious, even to the dim-witted orcs of clan Brokentusk, that she was a warrior born. Stronger than most of the males, and with a mind for tactics and strategy, Jekka was allowed to train with the warriors and learn the art of battle. It was soon evident that Jekka was the most powerful orc in her clan, a fact that did not sit well with the Brokentusk chief, Nevek. Filled with jealous rage Nevek challenged Jekka to a duel, a duel that resulted in his death and a disheartened Jekka Brokentusk leaving her clan in disgust.

After leaving the Brokentusks, Jekka traveled extensively. She hoped to learn more about her human side, and joined many mercenary companies towards that aim. Jekka found the company of humans, and other “civilized” races to be stifling at best and downright hostile at worst. In here travels she has made few friends, most find her brutish demeanor off-putting and her orcish upbringing only compounds this difficulty. Still, there is no denying Jekka’s skill with a blade, and she continues to find work as a mercenary and guard.

Playing Tips
Since leaving the Brokentusk clan, Jekka has tried in vain to understand the subtle nuances of civilized society. Unfortunately, her orcish upbringing has left her bereft of important skills such as tact, graciousness, and subtlety. She is by no means cruel or devious, and in fact can be roused to acts of great compassion towards those less fortunate than herself. Jekka’s main difficulty lies with interacting with human males, whom she finds intriguing in the extreme. Her coarse and unsubtle advances upon these unfortunate men always result in either mockery or outright fear. Although these rejections do little to dampen her mood, Jekka is still puzzled why anyone would turn her away, as orcs always choose the strongest females for their mates.

In a group, Jekka likes to be in charge, although she has little skill in leadership. Her orcish notion that the strongest should lead - and she is almost always the strongest - do little to win her the favor of her traveling companions. But those that have seen combat with Jekka, contend that she is the best ally to have when the going gets rough. Her skill and strength are nearly indomitable, and woe betide the foe that suffers the full brunt of her rage.

In truth, Jekka is motivated mainly by the desire to find acceptance. Her half-breed status has kept he on the fringe of human society, and those that have been willing to associate with her do so only because of her skill at arms. Any group or person, that showed Jekka the respect and trust she so desperately wants, would gain the staunchest of allies, and the most devoted of friends.
