Jekka’s Journal: The Temple

The companions awoke and Vas cooked some breakfast. He so loves to do so but the tastes of a lizard man are … a bit exotic for most. Jekka however always seems to enjoy these morning meals. Then again Jekka seems comfortable eating most anything not nailed down, and on a few occasions she has even tried that. After breakfast the companions open the portal to the temple, each stepping through, this time not knowing if the key will return them or if they are in for a long swim back to Seafoam.

The crisp sea air fills their lungs as the ever present breeze caresses their faces like the gentle touch of a mother’s hand. Jekka, seeing her companions stands up as she steps from the portal. The resounding thud echoes through the halls like a clap of thunder echoing off the mountain sides. Jekka steps out of the small pair booth and to her friends as the look of concern spreads across their faces. “Jekka ok!” Jekka stated rubbing her head. “Actually Jekka, it’s the booth we were concerned about” Oricx stated bluntly “we figured your prolific cranial area could with stand a, minor, bump such as that.”

The others fought back their chuckles as Jekka turned to study the booth. This area held many booths all identical. Their mixture of dark woods and a strange looking stone material reminded Jekka a little of the door to the underground city. All the booths were identical, except one. The one that held the portal now held a slight dome like bubble in its roof where Jekka’s head had slammed in to it. “Well, at least we know witch one is the one we need to return to now!” Karma purred. The companions did laugh at that. “Jekka no funny, Jekka got splinters” she winced as she removed a decent sized splinter from atop her head. “It’sssss a good thing you have a thick sssskull - that could have piersssssed your brain Jekka.” Vas stated as he patted her back, fighting away rolls of laughter. “Jekka know” she replied wide eyed with absolute concern. Ug, unable to close his mouth looks around the temple in astonishment. “Wowee Zowee ‘, dis is some temple”

“This is not the temple” Oricx stated flatly “this is only one of the prayer rooms.” Oricx leads Ug to the end of the hallway. “There, is the temple!” Oricx points to the majestic towers of flow stone bursting from the sea like fingers of a great hand reaching to the heavens. The mid day sun gleaming off the brilliant stone work casting rainbows in thousands of directions brings an awe inspiring gaze to all who see it. “WOWEEE ZOWEEE…Ooof!” Ug lands on his back from looking up in astonishment at the spiraling towers. Jekka moves to aid in bringing Ug to his feet. “Dat ok Wowee Zowee, Ug can see better from here.” The companions chuckle. “Come, we have been summoned before the council.” Oricx motions shaking off the grin. The companions walked on as the many hallways gave way to the city beyond.
