Stranger things have happened…

Well, here I am, in California, standing in a line to go see a sneak preview of Narnia, of all places! Did I think I would be here when I woke up this morning? Not remotely! :) . Yet, as they say - stranger things have happened!

I’ll be sure and post a review of the movie tomorrow!!! :)

Blogging via Blackberry!

Well, this is just about as spiffy as it gets, true believers! Blogging from the Blackberry is really a lot easier than I thought it would be :) ! You can expect a jump in the number of my posts now that I can blog from nearly anywhere!!! Woohoo!

For example, right now I’m sitting in my car in the driveway — TOO COOL! :D

You know you’re a REAL blogger when…

this is actually used in the decision making process about what “blog-route” you are going to take:

WOW!

Maybe I’m just a lightweight when it comes to blogging (there’s really no maybe to it - I *AM* a blogger lightweight), but that seems like a whole lotta work for something as unnecessary as a blog… Don’t get me wrong, true believers, I’ve got no issues with blogs - in fact, I kinda like mine… The day I need a two page chart to figure out which blogware I want to use — please, somebody smack me! :P

Speaking of unnecessary, did you ever notice that the more stuff we “get”, the more stuff becomes crucial to our “survival”? Think about it - ten years ago, there were no blogs, no wireless cards, no cell phones — all of these things now seem to be high on the “gotta have” list. Strange. What is even more strange is to think what will be the “must haves” a decade from now.

“But MOM! All the kids at school are getting micro-SpeechGuard TL-4 Multilingual Speech-to-Speech Translators in their NanoPC’s! Oh yea, and my new Orawave needs a fresh load of e-paper. Oh, and my climbing light is burnt out again!” :)

Remember - you heard it here FIRST, true believers!

To busy ta blog?

It kinda stinks, but work has been so incredibly crazy of late that I’ve had no time to blog at all! :( Hopefully something will give way soon - I’ve got lots of stuff simmerin’ on the back burner! ;)

Swedish Strangness…

I usually don’t watch much “late night” T.V., but I witnessed something strange on Conan tonight. He featured a group called Dungen from Sweden. I did not really think much of it, until they began to sign - in Swedish!

It was, needless to say, odd.

(Well, that, and the fact that the lead singer was a near-dead ringer for Jimmy Page…)

I wondered what percentage of Conan’s “viewership” and/or demographic could actually understand the group as they lilted in their native tongue.

As I said, odd.

So, what the heck IS AN “Orri”, ANYWAY?!?

Well, an Orri is a person - a good pal of mine, in fact, for quite some time.

Orri and I have been good pals since way back in my Planewalker days (back when I was the founder and webmaster of the Official Planescape website, Planewalker.com). Orri was one of several Project Directors, or PD’s (as we used to call ‘em) over the various sub-sections of the site. There were several, and each was like it’s own mini-site, and so each one needed it’s own PD to make sure things ran smoothly. Orri was the head of Kytos’ Hooks, which was a section that covered nothing but cool adventure hooks and adventure setups for the Planescape Campaign Setting…

Ah…those were the days. :) (more…)
